TAJIKISTAN I. Tajikistan needs $350 mln to upgrade telecommunication system. Tajikistan will need $350 million in investment to restore and upgrade its telecommunication system by 2005, Tajik Minister for Communication Nurudin Mukhitdinov said at the second international symposium on the quality of telecommunication services in the 21st century in Moscow on Thursday. He said that the Tajik telecommunication system was seriously damaged during the 1992-94 armed confrontation. It has also been damaged by natural disasters (mud slides and earthquakes).
