LATVIA I. Independent TV company acquires major TV holding. The TV3 company has made a bid for a controlling share in the Latvian Independent television [LNT] company, according the director-general of LNT, Andrejs Ekis. Whether the company is to acquire a controlling share in LNT or any shareholding in it will be disclosed in September, when there will be changes in the television stations output. There will be more self-produced programming, and more attention will be paid to analytical programmes. The television companys priorities are news and entertainment. In the near future the LNT evening news will be extended by 10 minutes, and will contain an analysis of events, said Ekis. Latvian Radio, Riga, March 3, 1999 |
